Video Forum
Video Forum is an open screening program for artists. Film and video makers are invited to bring in their works personally to Atopia for screening and presentation. There are no submission procedures, no application forms, and no rejections. In this event we show all the submitted works and engage in a discussion about the works.
The aim of this project is to develop a community of film and video artists who meet regularly to discuss their works and provide critique.
Video Forum provides valuable insight into the range and quality of works produced at any one time. It gives a snapshot view of artists’ video productions in Oslo.
During the past editions of Video Forum more than 100 artists have presented their works in Atopia. All presentations have been followed by debates and exchange of ideas among the participants.
Several editions of VideoForum have taken place in locations other than Atopia’s own space. These locations include Atelier Nord, Sound of Mu, Gallery 69, Filmens Hus and Akershus Kunstnerssenter.
This is a continuous project of Atopia, which was launched in February 2004. Atopia's Video Forum used to take place on the last Sunday of every month.
After 35 editions of Video Forum we have now changed the frequency of the event to every other month .
